Frequently Asked Questions

Does it look perfect straight away?

Not always as it’s not unusual for small globules of water to be left trapped in the newly fitted tint, this will evaporate as the suns heat cures/welds the glass and tint together. Also we use techniques to minimise contamination to the exposed glue surface to prevent dust, hairs and other contaminants sticking and ultimately spoiling the clarity of the finished window.

Can I tint any glass?

Not all film is suitable for all glass. The absorptance of the glass and the construction of the glass needs to be considered, i.e. If its treated, laminated, toughened or single glass pane. Some glass is not suitable for window tint as it can’t cope with thermal loads or it has been damaged in the production, invisible damage. This is a problem that can’t be predicted as it impossible to know the condition of the glass without removal from the pane which is not practical. Luckily this is not a regular occurrence.

How do they attach?

All window film adheres to the glass in much the same way: - The film has two surfaces, a removeable backing and the actual film, which on one side has a self-adhesive glue. You remove the backing and using specialist techniques, place the glue side to on the glass. Where the glue adheres to the glass, resulting in a semi-permanent bond.

Can I remove the tint?

All the tints are semi-permanent and can be removed if they are damaged or you want a new look.

Why can it take 3 to 4 hours to tint a vehicle?

This Ford Tourneo Grand Connect demonstrates how much work goes into tinting a vehicle. Most vehicles require us to remove door panels, rubber seals and mirrors (for sun strips). The Tourneo goes one level further, it also requires glass removal for a successful tint.  (photo 1 of 6)

Once the door panels were removed, (notice the opposite door frame) the rubbers and then the glass was removed. (photo 2 of 6)

Now the small window can be removed.  (Photo 3 of 6)

We tint the glass outside of the vehicle to ensure an edge to edge finish.  (Photo 4 of 6)

Now we can reassemble the vehicle starting with the rubbers.  (Photo 5 of 6)

Once rebuilt and tinted in a 5% limo tint, this Ford Tourneo Grand Connect looks sophisticated and is totally private.  (Photo 6 of 6)
